HELPING NEWLY GRADUATES JOIN THE LABOUR MARKET
Graduation normally marks the beginning of a new and important phase in the student’s life, i.e. entering the labour market.
In order to overcome this often difficult new phase, which represents the beginning of the fulfilment the students' life projects, the IPC’s graduates may count on specialised support at the Placements and Career Advisory Office (UNIVA), a job searching support structure, which works in partnership with the Portuguese Institute for Employment and Professional Training.
Mission:
Helping the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra newly undergraduates and graduates find jobs.
Purposes:
- Listening, informing and offering professional guidance;
- job placement and follow-up;
- adapting educational offer of the IPC’s schools to the demands of the entrepreneurial fabric.
Activities:
- Informing students and schools of training and work placements;
- collaborating with employers in the recruitment process of potential workers;
- helping candidates organise their job search;
- informing of professional training vacancies, the contents and collaboration during the application process;
- advertising IPC education to potential private and public employers;
- information and guidance regarding self-employment.
